Hydrolux claims to work by brightening your skin’s appearance and restoring radiant, firmer skin. It achieves these benefits using an ingredient called Syn-Ake peptide cream. Often referred to as “snake venom peptide cream”, Syn-Ake is a proprietary formula that works in a similar way to Botox.Syn-Ake will freeze your skin in place using toxins similar to the ones found in snake venom (there’s no actual snake venom in Hydrolux or any other anti-aging skin cream). By freezing your skin in place, Hydrolux prevents the formation of wrinkles. Your skin physically can’t move to form lines, creases, and wrinkles, so you get a reduced appearance of aging. Syn-Ake has been studied before in a small number of clinical trials. Hydrolux, however, does not list the results of any clinical trials or scientific studies that have taken place.
